About Butterfly Hikosuke Tamasu founded Tamasu Co., Ltd. in the small town of Yanai City, Japan in 1950. This was the beginning of a company career which is almost unique in table tennis. A renowned international for Japan, Tamasu fulfilled his dream of a lifetime when he made his hobby his profession. At that time, he could hardly imagine that he would make Butterfly the leading brand worldwide. Creativity, durability, and a profound technical knowledge meant success. 0ver and over again he looked for new possibilities in order to optimize techniques by innovative playing material. Tamasu realized that each player is different and has strengths and weaknesses. By offering individual playing material Tamasu wanted to help players right from the beginning to emphasize their individuality. Since 1983 Butterfly has its own training and research center in Tokyo. Highly qualified scientists co-operate with world class players and coaches for the development of rubber and blade technology. Butterfly's rubbers and blades are used by more than half of the participants at World and European Championships.

Good enough for me! April 10, 2010 TheBrigade (Washington State) I play ping-pong at work, for fun (or so I say...). I bought this paddle since the ones at lose quality since they're used so often, and abused. I've been very happy with this purchase. It was inexpensive, but feels like a quality made paddle. It has a beautiful sound, and I don't have anything negative to report about it.
Game on, friends!
I am impressed March 3, 2010 Joseph Yonke II (Bowie, Maryland United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The idea of paying less than twenty bucks for a table tennis racket, well, most of us occasionally serious players really wouldn't want to experiment with it. I mean, the more money one spends, the better his game should be, right? So why buy a $19 racket when you can buy one for a hundred bucks or more? I wanted to see what this could do. The one thing I noticed about this paddle is the control. Much better than any other racket I own. I like to spin the ball. A lot! But I do give up control by purchasing and using those rackets. This one spins but still, I have far more control over where I want to put the ball. Even more control on returning slams. I am impressed and will be using this a lot.
Good solid TT racket for serious players February 10, 2010 PV Trojan (CA, USA) Good solid intermediate TT racket for both defensive and offensive play. Racket is light enough for quick response. Rubber produces enough spin for good control without excessive effort. Racket construction absorbs energy making return shots more predictable.
Quality of the game has improved December 24, 2009 Om Shanti Om (USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was a promotion from standard issue rackets that came with the ping pong table. Ever since I have had this, the quality of my serves, shots and rally's have improved significantly. The amount of spin I get is phenomenal. Also it helps me have better control over where my shots and returns are placed especially with high top-spins. Overall it has motivated me to play the game more often that I have done before.
Beginner's racket December 16, 2009 Mateja Jovanovic 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This racket is only good for beginners, that is, children starting to play table tennis, and adults playing for fun. If you wish to start playing table tennis on a slightly more advanced level, then the purchase of this racket should be skipped.
